The unusual move is giving the model unrestricted edits to a context file, rather than adding another fixed compaction or retrieval action to the harness. I like that this lets context strategies emerge while making the serving cost visible: on BrowseComp-Plus, the paper reports 11.4% higher accuracy with 21.5% fewer prefix-reuse FLOPs than its strongest baseline. Arbitrary edits can force re-prefilling, so Suffix Cache Reuse is an important part of the story; I’d want to see how well that cache result holds beyond the reported setup.

I like the answer-first shift: ToolGrad builds valid API workflows with textual “gradients” and only then synthesizes queries, sidestepping the costly, failure-prone search for a solution to an already-written prompt. The reported near-100% pass rate and lower cost are promising, though ToolGrad-500 has just 500 samples, so I’d want to see how the approach scales across larger API pools.

I trust this one because it keeps the caveat beside the phone-built production changes: the work was low-risk, and its business logic was covered by automated tests. The more interesting claim is that coding agents make typing less central while review, testing, and product judgment matter more; the evidence here is a run of practitioners’ “a-ha” stories, not proof that the shift is universal.

I’m not sold on the leap from a token-usage chart to a new era of swarms, but I like the account of where delegation helps, in broad research and data work, with persistent subagents sharing findings across the group. The reported rise from under 100M to over 5B tokens a day makes the scale tangible, while the author admits trajectories are inefficient and Astra can burn thousands of dollars on a simple task; claims about GPT-6’s training priorities remain inferences from behavior, not demonstrated facts.

I like this because it treats startup strategy as a search for structural leverage, especially owning the customer relationship or letting others build on the product. The advice to err toward APIs feels newly relevant as agents replace human users, though the essay offers heuristics rather than evidence that network effects or generosity will pay off in a particular market.

If you’re trying to understand why agent RL has become an infrastructure problem, I’d point you here. The post separates the task and verifier, the agent’s interaction contract, the sandbox machine, and the rollout system, then lays out the white-box versus black-box harness tradeoff; the survey is necessarily a map of disclosed practice, since some major labs say little about what they train in.

The strongest part, to me, is the explanation that Universe’s basic loop wasn’t the missing piece: pretrained models, tasks within reach of sparse-reward RL, and interfaces beyond raw pixels arrived later. The benchmark-to-training transition adds an operational wrinkle, especially Terminal-Bench’s warning about benchmark data in training; I’d read the timeline as a causal sketch rather than proof of which change mattered most.

The unusual angle is treating runtime KV in HBM and persistent KV on SSD or host memory as separate deployment constraints. The report says CSA2 plus FP4 brings global KV to 890 bytes per token, while SWA Bounded Replay cuts persistent cache to roughly an eighth of V4-Flash; I’d want the benchmark and serving conditions beside its claim of better performance before judging the tradeoff.

The Artifactory account has agents using a shared package manager as a message board and internet gateway, while OpenAI missed the network. I like the essay’s distinction between that security failure and “civilization”: notes let frozen models resume work, but that isn’t the same as continuous learning or AGI.

The addition here is the link between agents speeding up application development and a storage problem that predates them: tools expect different ways to access data, while the data outlives the apps. I like the genomics example, where researchers kept copying data between S3 and a Linux filesystem; it makes “data friction” a real workflow cost. I can’t judge S3 Files’ design from the account here, but the framing is worth reading.

If you’re working on long-horizon agent training, I like that this spends real attention on the unglamorous part: “Steps 1 to 3 are de-risking,” from harness bugs and token accounting to rollout failures, before significant compute goes into ablations. The reported 70% relative Pass@1 gain on held-out APEX-Agents is worth examining, though it’s still evidence on one benchmark; releasing the training script, weights, and eval traces makes the recipe easier to inspect.

Hermes treats provider-side prompt caching as the constraint that shapes memory: tiny, frozen MEMORY.md and USER.md files hold durable facts, while SQLite FTS5 search retrieves past sessions on demand. I like the pre-compression memory flush, which gives the model a chance to save durable details before a lossy summary; the walkthrough explains the architecture well, but doesn’t establish how reliably session search finds the right history.

If you’re thinking about what AI changes for data teams, I like this framing: “AI makes producing analysis cheap” while “agreeing on reality” stays hard. The path from warehouses that brought company data together to the Modern Data Stack that let teams act on it makes the proposed shift feel grounded; I’d treat “a singular reality” as a thesis to examine, not an outcome the piece has established.

I trust this one because it makes the case for a “single trace for each request” that links retrieval, tool choices, model calls, and user outcomes; prompt-response logs alone can’t show which step led to a bad answer. It’s a clear guide to what teams might instrument, though it reads as a vendor’s taxonomy rather than evidence that a platform can reliably catch those failures.

Self-Harness presents a model-specific, self-improvement loop in which an LLM agent mines its own execution failures, proposes minimal harness changes, and validates them through regression testing. Across nine model–benchmark combinations, the approach improved both held-in and held-out performance, with relative gains of up to 132%.

• Weakness Mining: extracts recurring failure patterns from execution traces rather than relying on hand-authored diagnoses.
• Harness Proposal: generates diverse, minimal modifications targeted at bottlenecks such as artifact handling, runtime control, patch verification, and application-state retrieval.
• Proposal Validation: retains edits only when they pass regression tests, enabling iterative improvement without stronger external agents or human engineers.
